Fly to Sea-Tac
We recommend flying into Sea-tac (SEA) international airport. You could also fly into Vancouver, B.C (equidistant from Anacortes), but please save plenty of time to cross the border if you choose to do so.
We have guests coming in from BOS, EWR/JFK, LAX, SFO, MSP, IAD, MIA, MSM, MCI, ORF, AUS (!!), let us know if you’d like to coordinate rides with folks from your city.
Drive to Anacortes
We HIGHLY recommend renting a car to get up to and around the island. You can rent a car at sea-tac and drive ~2h up north to the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. You’ll stay on I5 all the way up until you get to Burlington, turn left on 20W, and follow signs for the San Juans.
We’re looking for drivers to bring up guests! If you have extra space in your car and wouldn’t mind bringing up a guest or two, please let us know! Similarly, if you need a ride up, we can match you with someone driving up.
Take the ferry to Friday Harbor
The ferry ride to Friday Harbor is about 1 hour. If you are driving on the ferry, you MUST have a vehicle reservation and arrive at the ferry terminal 45–60min ahead of departure time. It’s a beautiful journey!

Reservations will open up on February 10th. You must log on at 10am PST to secure one – it’s like getting concert tickets!
Find us at Saltwater Farm
The address is 126 Sea Breeze Lane, Friday Harbor WA. The venue is all ours from Saturday at 3pm through Monday at 12pm – come hang! The property is about 1.5 miles from the Friday Harbor ferry terminal.
Alternative Travel
"What about a seaplane??"
Arguably the easiest (and most fun!) way to get to the island. A beautiful, fun, and ~very Seattle~ 45m flight to the island. However, sometimes the fog prevents morning flights from taking off, so we only recommend this option if you’re getting in at least a day before the wedding to avoid any troubles. Seaplane flights take off either from lake union (ideal) or in kenmore (farther) and operate via Kenmore Air or San Juan Airlines. flights are ~$150–$200 each way. **please note: baggage weight maximums for seaplanes are 25lb.** However, there is also a small landplane that takes off from boeing airport (10m from Seatac) with a standard 50lb limit.

"Is there a bus??"
The Bellair Airporter is a service which can take you directly from SeaTac to the Anacortes Ferry Terminal in a few hours for $56 each way. It is a great option for out-of-towners who don't want to rent a car. That being said, there is no uber/lyft or public transit on the island, so we HIGHLY recommend renting a car or finding a carpool (we can help match you with someone!). To book the bus, pick the date and the SeaTac to San Juan Island Ferry Terminal (under Anacortes) option and select a time. Please note, the bus transfer in Burlington will wait for passengers transferring, however the ferry will go on without you. It can be tricky to line up flight times with the bus and ferry, so please build in buffer time.
Lodging
Lodging on the island is limited. Book early! The best place to stay is right in the town of Friday Harbor. Please note that we will not be having shuttles for the wedding, since the venue is a 5m drive from Friday Harbor and the ferry terminal. There is no uber/lyft, so please plan ahead with taxi services. If you need a ride to the wedding, please let us know and we can try to match you up with someone.
Discovery Inn

Discovery Inn is a chalet-style inn close to Friday Harbor and is the most affordable (but nice!) lodging option on the island. It is a 5m drive from the venue and a 15m walk from town. We have a room block rate from Sat, May 23 to Mon May 25th, but you’re welcome to extend for extra days! Book by calling 360-378-2000 between 8am–6pm PST or emailing alexis@discoveryinn.com. Make sure to mention “Julie & Josh’s wedding” block to get the rates below. Not recommended if you won't have a car.

Earthbox Inn

Earthbox Inn is right in the heart of downtown Friday Harbor, so it’s an easy walk to coffee, restaurants, and shops. It’s about a 5–10 minute drive from the venue and has a nice mix of comfortable rooms and suites (plus a spa if you want to treat yourself while you’re here).
We recommend staying here If you will not have a car on the island. You can book directly through their website or by phone.

Friday Harbor House

Friday Harbor house is a cozy waterfront hotel overlooking the marina and just steps from the ferry. It’s about a 5–10 minute drive to the venue and is a great option if you’re looking for something more upscale and peaceful, with beautiful views. People love the breakfast here! Reservations can be made directly through the hotel.
